RESEARCH GUIDELINES AND FEES

The Derry Area Historical Society is a non-profit organization with an all volunteer staff. We will answer email queries and perform simple look-ups without charge. However, like similar societies, we must charge fees for more extensive research but have kept these fees as reasonable as possible. All fees collected go toward maintaining the library. Additional donations are welcomed!

LIMITED RESEARCH at the Derry Area Historical Society is done by our resident genealogist, Mr. John Matviya. Mr. Matviya can be reached by e-mailing him at research@derryhistory.hypermart.net. All REQUESTS must come in writing to the Society.  They must be accompanied by a check or money order made out to the Derry Area Historical Society and directed to the attention of John Matviya. Please include an email address and phone number to expedite responses.

Our fees for NON-MEMBERS are subject to a minimum fee of $20.00, in advance, and $20.00 per hour,  or part thereof, for each additional hour (plus postage and photocopy charges.)  The amount sent will determine the amount of time spent on the search. If additional monies are required to continue searching, we will notify you. MEMBERS of DAHS will not be charged for the first hour of research.
